Flint Institute of Barbering, Inc. placement is calculated and reported on our graduation and employment chart in our annual report to our accrediting commission, which is The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The graduation and employment cohort reporting period for our 1 course (barbering) 12 month length has a beginning date of October through September. The reporting period is used by taking the programs normal length of completion (12 months) multiplied by 150% and adding 3 months for employment. From the report date of July we count back 21 months to establish the ending date of our reporting period (September of 2 years previous). From the ending date we count back 12 months previous to establish the beginning date of the reporting period (October of 3 years previous). Our chart includes 6 start dates during that period October/November, January, March, May, July and September. Students unavailable for graduation, which are subtracted from the graduation rate, includes students that fall into one of the following classification:
Death
Incarceration
Active military service deployment, or
The onset of a medical condition that prevents continued enrollment
From the remaining students in the cohort withdrawn/terminated students are then subtracted which leaves the number of graduates within 150% of the program length (18 months). Of these graduates the number that have continued on with education in an accredited institution of higher education (post-secondary) on at least a 1/2 time basis are excluded. Students unavailable for employment, which are subtracted from the graduate employment rate, includes students that fall into one of the following classification:
Death
Incarceration
Active military service deployment
The onset of a medical condition that prevents employment, or
International students that have returned to their country of origin
This leaves us with our total number of student available for employment. The number of graduates employed in the barbering field is then divided by the total number of students available for employment to equal our employment rate.
